Sponsorship Terms & Conditions — National Film & TV Awards South Africa

National Film & TV Awards South Africa
part of National Film Academy

1. Ticketing & Refund Policy

All ticket purchases for the National Film & TV Awards South Africa are final. No refunds, cancellations, or exchanges shall be provided under any circumstances once a booking has been confirmed.

This policy applies without exception, including but not limited to:

  • change of personal circumstances or availability
  • travel disruption or inability to attend
  • changes to the event programme, schedule, or venue
  • alteration of speakers, performers, or presenting talent
  • adverse weather conditions
  • illness or medical reasons
  • any other personal or external factors

Ticket holders acknowledge that the National Film & TV Awards South Africa incurs substantial non-recoverable costs — including but not limited to venue hire, production, staffing, hospitality, security, and administration — immediately upon confirmation of each booking. All such costs are committed irrevocably, and therefore any monies paid in respect of tickets are strictly non-refundable.

In the event the National Film & TV Awards South Africa is compelled to reschedule the ceremony, all tickets shall automatically be valid for the rescheduled date and no refunds shall be issued. Should the event be cancelled in its entirety due to circumstances beyond the control of the National Film & TV Awards South Africa (including but not limited to force majeure events, government restrictions, or safety requirements), the National Film & TV Awards South Africa shall use reasonable endeavours to offer ticket holders alternative arrangements, but shall not be obligated to issue refunds.

By completing a ticket purchase, the ticket holder expressly acknowledges and agrees to these terms and waives any right to seek a refund or chargeback in respect of the purchase.

2. Sponsorship Activation and Campaign Delivery

All sponsorship agreements entered into with the National Film & TV Awards South Africa constitute live promotional and marketing campaigns connected to the relevant Awards cycle and related media, editorial, publicity, hospitality, digital and promotional activities.

Sponsor campaigns may include, without limitation:

  • editorial placements
  • press announcements
  • category sponsorship integrations
  • social media promotion
  • website inclusion
  • event branding
  • hospitality allocations
  • VIP ticketing
  • marketing campaigns
  • digital advertising
  • PR and publicity activity

Campaign activity may commence immediately upon confirmation of sponsorship and may continue up to and beyond the date of the Awards ceremony.

3. Non Refundable Sponsorship Fees

Due to the bespoke nature of sponsorship campaigns and the substantial allocation of editorial, production, marketing, administrative and promotional resources upon confirmation, all sponsorship fees paid to the National Film & TV Awards South Africa are strictly non refundable once campaign activation, planning, allocation or promotional implementation has commenced.

This includes, without limitation:

  • allocation of sponsorship categories
  • publication scheduling
  • editorial preparation
  • digital campaign integration
  • marketing implementation
  • hospitality reservations
  • internal resource allocation
  • public announcement preparation

Sponsors acknowledge that substantial costs and resource commitments are incurred immediately upon campaign activation and therefore cancellation by a sponsor does not automatically entitle the sponsor to reimbursement of monies paid.

4. Editorial and Promotional Materials

The National Film & TV Awards South Africa may prepare editorial, promotional and publicity materials relating to sponsors using information, branding, logos, imagery, descriptions, press materials and publicly available brand content supplied directly by the sponsor or publicly accessible through the sponsor's official channels.

Sponsors remain responsible for supplying any preferred approved wording, statements, quotes, imagery, logos or brand assets they wish to be used within campaign materials.

Where sponsors fail to provide requested materials within campaign timelines, the National Film & TV Awards South Africa reserves the right to utilise publicly available brand assets and information for campaign continuity purposes.

5. Correction and Rectification Process

In the event a sponsor identifies any factual inaccuracy, editorial concern, branding issue, imagery issue, wording concern or publication error connected to sponsorship materials, the sponsor must notify the National Film & TV Awards South Africa in writing.

Upon written notification, the National Film & TV Awards South Africa shall use reasonable commercial efforts to review, amend, remove or rectify the disputed material within 48 hours where reasonably practicable.

Sponsors acknowledge that inadvertent editorial, formatting or publication issues do not automatically constitute grounds for cancellation or refund where remedial action is promptly undertaken in good faith.

6. Sponsor Approval Process

Where specifically requested by the sponsor in writing, the National Film & TV Awards South Africa may offer reasonable pre publication approval opportunities for sponsor specific editorial content, branding materials or quotations prior to publication, provided such approval requests do not materially delay campaign schedules or production deadlines.

Sponsors acknowledge that failure to respond within requested approval timelines may result in publication proceeding using existing approved or publicly available materials.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the National Film & TV Awards South Africa, National Film Academy, its officers, employees, contractors and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • indirect losses
  • reputational losses
  • consequential losses
  • loss of profits
  • loss of business opportunity
  • loss of goodwill
  • third party claims arising from sponsor supplied materials

The total liability of the National Film & TV Awards South Africa in connection with any sponsorship agreement shall in no circumstances exceed the total sponsorship fees actually paid by the sponsor under the relevant agreement.

8. Sponsor Warranties

Sponsors warrant that all logos, trademarks, images, promotional materials and content supplied to the National Film & TV Awards South Africa are owned by the sponsor or properly licensed for promotional use.

Sponsors further warrant that all supplied materials do not infringe the intellectual property or legal rights of any third party.

9. Removal of Materials

The National Film & TV Awards South Africa reserves the right to remove, amend, suspend or replace sponsorship materials, editorial content, digital placements or promotional references where reasonably necessary for legal, operational, editorial or reputational reasons.

10. Event Changes and Force Majeure

The National Film & TV Awards South Africa reserves the right to amend event dates, venues, schedules, broadcast arrangements or promotional timelines where reasonably necessary due to operational, commercial, governmental, safety or force majeure circumstances.

Any dispute arising in connection with sponsorship agreements shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
